Dhani Hair Oil

It would be better to call Dhani, my maternal grandmother, my second Mother. Every school day, "Baa" as we call her, would feed me breakfast and comb my hair, massaging it with oil so that it stayed in place. She is a steady and formidable presence in my life, and I hope that this oil can give her the softness she deserves in her beautiful old age. We turned out alright, Baa, all thanks to you.

Dhani is a heavy oil, with coconut oil as part of its main base. This oil is reminiscent of traditional South Asian oil blends for the hair - you might recognize many of the ingredients as Ayurvedic hair care ingredients. This oil base may solidify in cold temperatures - feel free to microwave it without the cap, or leave it in the sun or near a heater to liquify again.
